GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL - GLASTOTAG

Challenge
Orange wanted to build awareness of their sponsorship of Glastonbury and celebrate the festival’s 40th anniversary
 
Insight
Orange UK is a mobile network operator and an internet service provider in the United Kingdom, launched in 1993
 
Solution
Working with Poke whilst at LingoBee we decided to take a huge photo of all 350 metres of the Pyramid Stage field with everyone in it. GlastoTag was born. We stitched together 36 photos, presented the image online and invited visitors to find and tag themselves in the crowd using Facebook Connect. Users are able to zoom in, out and around the image with a full 180 degree view and can spot people at the back of the field up to 300 metres away.
 
Results
With 1.3 million visits to the site, 7,000 tags and 7,000 Facebook likes, GlastoTag was lauded as an example of the ‘golden age of the industry’ and achieved an official Guinness world record for the most tagged photo.
